AS AN ORTHODONTIST

I then walk my patient through the proposed treatment, explain what I recommend and why, discuss alternative approaches, and answer their questions. Together, we decide on a plan that works for the whole of the individual’s situation. It’s important that patients — and often their families — are part of this process. All of us working together keeps treatment running smoothly to ensure the best experience and results.

It is deeply rewarding to go through the orthodontic experience, from initial consult to radiant new smile, with my patients. You come into our office as a patient, and you leave as family!

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Dr. Brown grew up in Gibsonia and is honored to provide orthodontic care to a community he knows and loves. His career path was determined at a young age: When he was 12 years old, and in the sixth grade, he became fascinated by how metal and wires could straighten teeth. Right then he decided to become an orthodontist and his dream never wavered!

His undergraduate studies were completed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Remaining at the University of Pittsburgh, in the School of Dental Medicine’s Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Dr. Brown completed an additional three-year orthodontic residency where he received his Master of Dental Science. That’s an extra 11 years of dedicated education after high school to become an orthodontist!

Dr. Brown has practiced orthodontics for more than 20 years and remains as enthusiastic about his profession today as he felt when he finished his residency.

For Dr. Brown, utilizing his extensive experience and advanced techniques, while providing the highest quality of orthodontic care, is fulfilling. Moreover, he truly appreciates the people he gets to know and spend time with. He loves seeing individuals’ personalities blossom and watching each person grow throughout their time in his care.

Through these organizations, he continuously pursues educational opportunities to stay current on the latest techniques and research in orthodontics. By staying at the leading edge of new developments, Dr. Brown ensures patients have access to the most up-to-date procedures and technologies available.

BEYOND ORTHODONTICS

Darrick resides in his hometown of Gibsonia with his wife, Heather (his high-school sweetheart), and their two sons, Jack and Ben. If he’s not at the office changing smiles, Darrick is most often found with his family. He’s also a bicycle enthusiast, fan of the Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates, and makes plenty of time for volunteering in his community.

Feeling he has been blessed, Darrick loves being a part of his church and local charities, and finding ways to give back and make this a better community for all!
